The BHS 1200- Over 60% of BHS students find other ways to relax and have fun on weekends without drinking or doing drugs. But a majority of teens who have used alcohol in the the past 30 days have engaged in binge drinking. In other words, most teens who drink, drink to get drunk. And this is where the danger lies. Binge drinking is the leading cause of accidents and accidental deaths among teens.

"AThe Promise to Adam campaign was launched after the death of Adam London, a popular and athletic junior from Newton North High School, in a one-person car accident on a rainy night in August 2010. Adam was speeding on a residential street when he crashed his car into a tree near his home. He was not wearing a seatbelt and had consumed two beers. Immediately after his death, Barbara Spivak and Howard London, Adam’s parents, worked with their family and friends to launch A Promise to Adam.
Brookline High School has sponsored two public presentations by Promise to Adam campaigners promoting safe driving among teens. Three hundred Brookline students have signed pledges, "A Promise to Adam" PledgePledge, not to drive under the influence of alcohol or marijuana, to avoid speeding and common driving distractions, and to wear their seatbelts.
